Is it just me or is music way better than life?
Some people utilize songs to enhance their experiences. For me, the music IS the experience. There are a lot of things that don’t make sense to me (people, society, movies, etc.) but music makes perfect sense. So the next time someone tells me it doesn’t make sense to be a musician I’m going to say, “tell that to your favorite band, to stop making music.”

Controversially, people tell me to “keep making music” and “keep jamming” every day. They hear the sounds, become inspired and full of gratitude. Those people understand that life is just not enough by itself. Humans NEED music, it’s fundamental like breathing.
The reason I started making music is because life fell short, and the music I wanted to hear didn’t exist. And that’s just as true today. When life falls short of certain qualities, music can supplement them. If I’m feeling terribly sad, I’ll write a really happy song to get myself out of it. Or sometimes write a really sad song. But either way, it’s a way to feel better.
I hope one day life could rival music… but today, music is much better. My hope is that music can transform life over time. My dream is that life can improve and become as harmonious, as synchronized, as enjoyable as music. But, today, thank goodness we have the refuge of music get through the times.
